Piyasara Shilpadhipathi who was well known as an excellent drummer in Sri Lanka, has passed away at the age of 75  He had been battling an illness for a long time passed away at his residence

.He had been serving as a visiting lecturer at Colombo and Jayawardenepura Universities while being employed as a senior lecturer at the University of Kelaniya.
The remains of the late Shilpadhipathi will be placed at his residence in Thalawathugoda for the general public to pay their respects.
